DBM Technologie is a manufacturer and supplier of high-temperature insulation heat shielding for protection up to 1,400°C, and is available in flexible or rigid form.
DBM Technologie works at several levels:
The main products manufactured by DBM Technologie are rigid heat shields, flexible insulation blankets to protect valves and piping, fire screens, and insulating / heating shells.
The company offers innovative solutions to a variety of markets, including power generation, aeronautics, railway, automotive and industrial applications.
We are ready to respond to our customers’ requirements and work with them on their projects.
DBM Technologie designs and manufactures high performance integrated insulation heat shields to give thermal protection for temperatures of up to 1,200°C.
The insulation is applied in two ways:
The insulating materials composed of glass fibre or silica powder agglomerated by a binder are generally encapsulated in thin refractory stainless steel, inconel or titanium sheets depending on the requirements. The insulation could be in glass fibre (500°C), silica fibre (1,000°C) or silica powder clustered by binder (high-performance insulation with low thickness).
The advantages are:
Typical applications:
DBM Technologie designs and manufactures high-performance detachable insulation heat shields that provide thermal protection for temperatures up to 1,200°C. Typically, this form of insulation is detachable and composed of two half shells, which are hinged together.
Insulating materials consist of glass fibre or silica powder agglomerated by a binder, they are encapsulated in thin refractory stainless steel, inconel or titanium sheets, depending on the requirements.
The insulation could be in glass fibre (500°C), silica fibre (1,000°C) or silica powder clustered by binder (high-performance insulation with low thickness). Usually the encapsulation is done with refractory stainless sheet of 0.1mm or 0.15mm in thickness, but when we need a significant mechanical strength, the heat shield encapsulation stainless steel could have a thickness of more than 1mm.
The advantages are:
Typical applications:
DBM Technologie designs and manufactures high-performance soft thermal and acoustic protection. This type of insulation can protect against temperatures of up to 1,400°C.
Insulation is applied in two ways; it is either detachable or integrated onto the items needingto be insulated. A mock-up is frequently used to quickly create a prototype of the thermal insulation. The series of insulators can be assembled with hooks or industrial self-gripping (Velcro).
Thermal insulation
Our thermal insulators are made of fiberglass (up to continuous temperature of 500°C), silica fiber (1,000°C), silica aerogels (650°C). They are encapsulated in special fabrics resistant to heat, made from glass, silica or aramid fibres. Depending on the application, these fabrics are coated with silicone or Viton®. The coating laid on the outer fabric allows a fluid seal in the case of projections; it also satisfies environmental standards such as resistance to salt spray, humidity and fungus. The insulation can have a minimum thickness of 3mm.
The outside of Silcamide complex is composed of insulating glass fabric coated with silicone and the inside of thermally desized glass fabric, while insulation is a needled fiberglass. The Noviamide complex is composed of Nomex® fabric coated Viton®.
Acoustic insulation
Acoustic fibres are encapsulated in aramid fabric with customised weaving.
Typical applications:
DBM Technologie designs and manufactures fire-screens in soft or rigid insulating material. The insulators customised for the application are held in envelopes made from thin refractory stainless sheets and fireproof fabric.
These products enable protection from fire for durations specified by the customer. Fire protection material can be manufactured in small or bigger sizes and up to several metres of length or width without thermal link.
Typical applications:
Électricité de France (EDF) is adding a new 1,570MW European Pressurised Water Reactor (EPR) to its Flamanville nuclear power plant in Normandy, France.
